First Day

What an awesome first day!!  I think we will have a great year.  A couple of items worth mentioning:

  1. Homework-Homework might go home next week, the earliest, or the following week, the lastest.  We will practice first in school before I send home the homework.
  2. Snack-We were so busy today that I forgot snack.  I think everyone else did also, until the end of the day.  We need to talk about snack time tomorrow.
  3. AR point goal-The students took a computer reading assessment today.  I hope to have their AR point goal by the end of the week.  We will start taking AR quizzes this Friday on the story we are reading in the classroom.
  4. Classroom website-If there is anything wrong or not working, please email me so I can fix it.  Sometime I forget to adjust a few things.

Thanks for encouraging your child to do their best each day!

We had an awesome day for today's field trip to St. John's Arboretum.  The Arboretum Staff did a fantastic job working with the students to understand a little bit more about habitats in this area.  The students walked through three different habitats and participated in activities in each of the habitats.  The students really enjoyed each of the activities.

Bulldog Field Day Letter

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day this past Sunday.  Mr. Virant sent home a Bulldog Field Day informantion letter.  The letter gives all the information, eating and the day's events, for this Friday, May 13.

We also had a guest speaker from the public library, Michele Cornelius.  She introduced the public library's summer reading program.  She gave each child a letter to bring home for the parents to read.

The school year is wrapping up.  Please check the classroom calendar to keep up with the end of the year events like Bulldog Field Day this Friday and Grade Three field trip to St. John's Arboretum next Monday, May 16th.

Arboretum Field Trip

We are planning a for trip to St. John's Arboretum on Monday, May 16.  We are planning to leave at 11:00 am to learn about Minnesota's habitats.  Please complete the permission slip your child brought home tonight, Monday, May 2 and return by this Friday, May 6.  If I can, I will post the field trip informational/permission letter on a different post.  You can learn more about St. John's Arboretum by clicking on the following link, http://www.csbsju.edu/Arboretum.htm.
