Classroom Letter

I sent home a letter with your chilld today, Friday, April 15.  Please explore the classroom website for student work this weekend.  For example, students narrated their awesome Stone Fox writing project.  Please take the time to listen to their stories.

Also, the River Bats reading logs are due Monday.  Rember their reading goal is 105 minutes for the week.

Job Well Done

We are done with the first two segments of the Reading portion of the MCA's.  I have no idea how ell they did, but I can say it looked like they did their best.  We are schedule to finish the Reading MCA's tomorrow morning.  Please have your child get a good night rest and eat a healthy breakfast.

On a different note, I posted each student's version of Stone Fox chapter.  After clicking on the following link, http://sites.google.com/site/wolfatpaes/stone-fox, please scroll and click on a student's name to listen to their version of Stone Fox last chapter.

River Bats Reading Program Promotion

A River Bats Reading letter was sent home today explaining their reading program promotion.  The only thing that the letter doesn't explain is the reading minutes goal.  The thrid grade sent 105 minutes a week as the goal.  That comes to about 15 minutes a day.  The students can read the 105 minutes in one night, or they can spread it out over the week.  I uploaded the River Bats letter and reading logs onto this announcement.  Hopefully, I uploaded the documents correctly.  If the document doesn't download, please let me know.

Toots and Snowpants

I am going out on a limb and say that the students do not need to bring their boots or snowpants.  If it snows, then the students need to bring their snowpants and boots.  They still need to weat their coats, hats and mittens/gloves to school.

Remember that there is a spelling test tomorrow.

Spelling & AR Party

Due to the bad weather yesterday, Wednesday, March 23, the spelling test is postponed to Friday, March 25.  I sent home the spelling sort tree map today for the students to study.

We are having a celebration for the students who met their AR point goal for third quarter.  We are planning a Luau Party.  The details are still be worked out, but we'll be ready to have some fun tomorrow.  The students can wear clothes that they would wear to the beach (but not their actual swimsuits!).
